We use a restorative justice approach to improve widows access to and ownership of their land through community education, conflict resolution, and legal aid, and promote widows' access to safe and dignified housing.
Many widows face property grabbing, inheritance disputes, and housing insecurity after losing their husbands. Our justice program addresses these challenges through legal advocacy, community education, and restorative approaches that seek to heal relationships while securing rights.
We work with traditional leaders, local authorities, and legal institutions to create systemic change that protects widows' rights and promotes justice in our communities.

When my husband died, his brothers immediately came to take our land and house. They said I had no right to stay because I was 'just a woman.' I was devastated and didn't know where to turn. Nyanam's justice program provided me with legal support and helped mediate with the family. Through community education and legal advocacy, I was able to secure my land rights. Now I farm my land and my children have a secure home.
